We always welcome new members to join our big family! Auditions are usually held twice a year, once at the beginning of the season in late August / early September, and once in January.
The next auditions will take place on TBC. We look forward to seeing and hearing you!
How do I sign up?
Please email membership@bachchoir.org.hk so that we can arrange a timeslot for your audition. Auditions are done in the evening, usually sometime between 7:00 PM ~ 10:00 PM.
What do I need to prepare for the audition?
Just bring yourself!
How is the audition like?
Maestro Jerome Hoberman, whom we lovingly call Jerry, will be conducting the audition. We will first have a chat to get to know you better, your background, your aims for joining the choir, etc. You will then be asked to sight-read a short excerpt to test your pitch and general musicianship (and some diction). The audition will take approximately 10-15 minutes in total.
The season has already begun; can I still audition?
It depends on a number of factors, i.e. how far along we are in the season, etc. Please contact membership@bachchoir.org.hk — we are always happy to discuss.
When and where are the rehearsals?
The Bach Choir calls the Hong Kong Cultural Centre home, so our rehearsals are usually at the Concert Hall backstage every Thursday, 7:30 PM ~ 10:00 PM. We have a schedule that lists the time and location of each rehearsal, which we will share with you once you join the Bach Choir family!
