William Chung
Seasons: 2018 – Current

William Wai-Leung Chung, baritone, choir conductor, and music teacher, holds an MMus in choral conducting from the Michigan State University, and a BA in Music from the University of Hong Kong. He studied conducting with David Rayl, Jonathan Reed and Sandra Snow, and voice with Peter Lightfoot and Lan Rao. He received further conducting instruction from Rolf Beck, Stephen Coker, Graeme Langager, Ragnar Rasmussen and Helmuth Rilling, He currently teaches music at St. Stephen’s College (Stanley, Hong Kong), and serves as the choirmaster of The Hong Kong Bach Choir.











Rex Man
Seasons: 2017 – 2018

An avid evangelist for choral music, Rex Man was appointed Assistant Conductor of The Hong Kong Bach Choir during the summer of 2017. Now studying conducting privately with Jerome Hoberman, his previous teachers include Carmen Koon and Law Po Kwan. Rex has been an active participant in recent conducting master classes with Gene Moon, Gesa Werhahn, and William Jones, and in international courses held by SingFest Academy (HK) and Voces Academy (UK) during the summer of 2017, in which he led the SingFest chorus and the London-based chamber choir, Evoke. Man has been awarded a scholarship by the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where he will begin work in August toward a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting.

Currently completing the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University, Rex studies voice with Jimmy Chan. He has also trained with Ella Kiang and Sammy Chien. Among his solo appearances at HKBU are the bass roles in Mozart’s Regina Coeli and Coronation Mass in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Rex also studies piano with Tony Tsang and has achieved ATCL (Trinity College). Under the guidance of Sylvester Che, he obtained the AmusTCL in music theory.
